We’d like to extend our congratulations to Dr Chris Sear and Steven Cubitt for their recent awards.
Chris was presented with a SALAS Legacy of Leadership Award in recognition of his outstanding contributions and long service. The award was made at the 22nd Annual Scientific Conference of the Society in Singapore in March.
Also in March, Steven became an IAT Life Member at the IAT Conference, which was held in Wales. Steven became a Fellow in 1987 and remained actively involved in education until 2024, serving on Council, on Education Boards and finally as Chair of the Board of Educational Policy. During that time, he worked as part of a dedicated IAT Education team for over 35 years, helping to shape new syllabi and supporting the IAT’s development as both an Awarding Body and an End Point Assessment Organisation. On receiving his life membership Steven commented: 'What drove me throughout was simple: a desire to offer the same opportunities to today’s technicians that the IAT, and key individuals within it, offered me throughout my career.’
